 HES Solar Lighting Systems Guide
Solar powered floodlighting is now possible with the HES-LED20 and LED40 12/24V DC floodlights. These quality products enable practical outdoor lighting in all Canadian climates. They work in all weather conditions and use the latest high efficiency LED technology for maximum illumination with minimal power consumption.

HES LED Light Fixtures
 The HES LED fixtures are the latest evolution of outdoor high efficiency low voltage lighting. Incredibly bright, they use LEDs producing over 80 lumens per watt of light. With a built in driver circuit, they can be powered by either 12V or 24V DC. Each include industrial housings, and can be installed to light signs, gates or as ground floodlights.

Batteries
As the reservoir for your solar energy, we have recommend various battery sizes for each of the solar system options. This is based on 14 days autonomy and maximum discharge depths of 50%. Battery options include:
- 8A27 Sealed, maintenance free batteries, 100Ahr @ 12V
- Surrette high capacity S-530 6V solar batteries.

Lighting Controllers
The Sunlight controller turns the HES-LED light on at dusk and runs it per the user selected times. Run options include:
- 2, 4, 6, 8 or 10 hours on
- On at dusk, run for 3, 4 or 6 hours, then Off, then resume for 1 or 2 hours prior to dawn
- Dusk to dawn
The Sunlight SL-10 and SL-20 functions as a charge controller as well, rated for 10 amps of charge current (SL-10) or 20 amps (SL-20). When using 4 HES-135 solar panels, we recommend wiring the system as 24V, and using the SL-20-24V version. |
